Congratulations to CBK Media Management client Niala Charles on jumping to a top-15 market. Niala will report and anchor for KPNX, the NBC affiliate in Phoenix, AZ (Market #11).
Prior to making the move to Phoenix, Niala worked as a News Reporter for KNSD (NBC) in San Diego, CA (Market #29). While working in California, Niala covered the George Floyd protests in downtown San Diego. Before KNSD, Niala previously worked as a News Reporter/Investigative Reporter at WPEC (CBS) in West Palm Beach, FL (Market #36). Niala’s investigative story on expectant mothers in the state of Florida signing away some of their rights often without realizing it earned her a First Place Society of Professional Journalism Award (Serious Feature).
Niala’s broadcasting career began as a News Reporter/MMJ/Anchor at KTTC (NBC) in Rochester, MN (Market #153). Niala’s work at KTTC was recognized by the Society of Professional Journalists with First Place awards for Hard News and Spot/Breaking News Reporting.
Niala was born in New Jersey, but raised in California. She earned her B.A. in Journalism and Economics from Pepperdine University. While attending Pepperdine, she interned for the International Association and BBC Worldwide Americas.
