Congratulations to CBK Media Management client Ian Cassette on joining Spectrum News as a national meteorologist. Ian will based out of the Raleigh, NC Spectrum News studio. Ian’s forecasts will be seen on Spectrum News+ and he will also provide weather coverage to local Spectrum markets across the country.

Prior to making the move to this national meteorologist position, Ian spent the previous two years as a meteorologist at WOFL (FOX) in Orlando, FL. While working at WOFL, Ian excelled at tropical storm forecasting in the state of Florida and throughout the southeast. Ian covered a number of big tropical systems, including Hurricane Ian, which was the deadliest hurricane to strike the state of Florida since 1935.

Ian has also worked as a meteorologist at stations in Roanoke, VA (WDJB) and Topeka, KS (WIBW). Ian is a Florida native and he was raised only 90 miles away in Tampa. Ian’s love for weather began at a very young age. He celebrated his 12th birthday with the power out during Hurricane Francis in 2004.

Ian earned his degree in meteorology from Florida State and he is a huge Seminoles fan. He also enjoys rooting on the Tampa Bay Rays and Tampa Bay Lightning. When Ian isn’t forecasting, he enjoys checking out new restaurants and breweries with friends. #TeamCBK
